Knowing your opposition. Types of your opponents
Basically all players are divided into two categories: tight players and loose players.
1) Loose/Loose-passive players. Loose players are not experienced enough for playing in no-limit game. So you will rarely see them gaming in such form of poker. However, they are so enthusiastic that they will stay in even with a weak hand. Losing your money quickly is a result of relying on luck when playing the game.
2) Loose-aggressive type of players, as a rule, overestimates the strength of their hand. Full of confidence, they will raise bravely and even bluff. The players are easily involved into big pots with their bad hands. No wonder they usually end up losing a huge amount of money.
3) Tight/Tight-passive players. Tight players in general are more responsible of their hands and more selective. They won't make thoughtless moves in order to win big. They are experienced in poker and rely on their strategy and knowledge, but not luck. Because of playing few hands they rarely win as well as rarely lose. The biggest weakness of a tight-passive player is an ability to be figured out quite easily.
4) Tight-aggressive players are really dangerous opponents. Skilled, well experienced players will never be read by other players and trying to bluff isn't advisable. Furthermore, tight-aggressive players are very selective about their hands. That's why their moves are, as a rule, successful.
Knowing your opponents will help you to play a more profitable game and win big. Perhaps some players are not that aggressive as they appear to be. Maybe others play in order to have fun and they are not going to win big. You will recognize those types of players if you know them of course.
